Volunteer Opportunities

Come join us and be part of one of Carmel’s most anticipated events of the year—the Taste of Carmel! This year marks another unforgettable evening of food, wine, and community—and we can’t do it without YOU.

We’re looking for fun, enthusiastic volunteers (ages 21 and up) to help make the night a success. Every volunteer plays a vital role in creating an extraordinary experience for our guests.

Important Volunteer Details

Thank you for volunteering at this year’s event. To help things run smoothly, please follow the check-in and shift procedures below:

Volunteer Check-In Location: Murphy parking lot (south side of the Carmel Mission).

Arrival Time: Please check in 15 minutes before your scheduled shift.

At Check-In: You will receive your volunteer lanyard and shift assignment.

End of Shift: When your shift is completed, please return your lanyard to the volunteer station. After that, you are welcome to enjoy the remainder of the evening’s festivities.

Parking: Please use available neighborhood parking spots when possible.

What to Wear: Theme is Boots, Bottles, & Bites - join us in your best western wear!

Volunteer Shifts Available

October 1

Set up Tables (4:30pm - 6:30pm)

Set up banquet tables in mission courtyard for Taste of Carmel. Heavy lifting maybe required. Wear closed toe shoes.

Prep Vendor Supplies (4:30pm - 6:30pm)

Prep supplies for vendor allocation. Organize paper goods, glassware, boxed water to be delivered to vendor station on Thursday.

October 2

Venue Setup Team (9:00am - 12:00pm)

Work with other volunteers to finalize table location, place linens, signage, bus tubs and paper goods. Set signage for VIP Parking

Venue Setup Team (12:00pm - 3:00pm)

Work with other volunteers to finalize table location, place linens, signage, bus tubs and paper goods. Set signage for VIP Parking

VIP Lounge Setup (1:00pm - 4:00pm)

Support the rental company in placement of items. Set out VIP items. Ensure there's trashcans and a water station.

Vendor Check-in  (2:00pm - 6:00pm)

Check in Restaurants/Wineries/etc  and tell them where their table is located. Provide staff with  wristbands. Answer unloading and parking questions.

Raffle Basket Transport/Setup (3:00pm - 5:00pm)

Pick up raffle baskets from the Chamber office and transport them to the courtyard at the Carmel Mission. Set baskets on tables. May require heavy lifting.

On Call Volunteer (3:00pm - 7:00pm)

Be available to run last minutes errands into the village, office or Crossroads for any last minute pick up or to assist with any challenges. Must have vehicle for use.

Wine Glassware Attendant (4:00pm - 7:00pm)

Work with Lewis Builders, official glass sponsor, to set out glassware and distribute to guests. Support their team to restock and distribute.

VIP Parking Lot Attendant (4:00pm - 7:00pm)

Check credentials of VIP for entry to the VIP Parking lot.

Raffle Ticket Sales Support (4:00pm - 7:00pm)

Solicit guests to purchase raffle tickets throughout crowd and at Raffle Station.

VIP Check-In Registration (4:30pm - 6:30pm)

Greet and check in guests as they arrive. Secure their VIP wristband on their wrist and direct them to glassware and the event.

General Admission Check-In Registration (5:30pm - 7:30pm)

Greet and check in attendees using a checklist provided. Place wristband on attendees and direct them to Lewis Builders, glass sponsor, and into the event.

Raffle Ticket Sales Support (7:00pm - 9:30pm)

Solicit guests to purchase raffle tickets throughout crowd and at Raffle Station.

General Admission Check-In Registration (7:30pm - 9:00pm)

Manage late arrivals for registration and maintain security at door.

Load Out and Return (9:00pm - 11:00pm)

Allow use of vehicle and load items to be returned to chamber office, washing, etc.

1- Pack Buckets/Bins/Water jugs to be washed (tbd) and returned to the Vitner's Assc.

2- Pack leftover raffle items and return to chamber office on friday

3-Pack linens and take for laundry (tbd) and return to chamber office

4- Pack leftover paper goods, signage, product and return to chamber office

5- Pack glasses and return to chamber office

Clean Up Crew (9:00pm - 11:00pm)

Gather recycling and trash to support bussing team, move supplies to south parking lot for removal, remove linens, gather paper goods, gather bussing items.
