Volunteer Opportunities
Come join us and be part of one of Carmel’s most anticipated events of the year—the Taste of Carmel! This year marks another unforgettable evening of food, wine, and community—and we can’t do it without YOU.
We’re looking for fun, enthusiastic volunteers (ages 21 and up) to help make the night a success. Every volunteer plays a vital role in creating an extraordinary experience for our guests.

POTENTIAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteer Check-In Location: Murphy parking lot (south side of the Carmel Mission).
Arrival Time: Please check in 15 minutes before your scheduled shift.
At Check-In: You will receive your volunteer lanyard and shift assignment.
End of Shift: When your shift is completed, please return your lanyard to the volunteer station. After that, you are welcome to enjoy the remainder of the evening’s festivities.
Parking: Please use available neighborhood parking spots when possible.
What to Wear: Theme is Boots, Bottles, & Bites - join us in your best western wear!
Volunteer Shifts Available
Wednesday, September 30
Set up Tables (4:30pm - 6:30pm)
Set up banquet tables in mission courtyard for Taste of Carmel. Heavy lifting maybe required. Wear closed toe shoes.
Prep Vendor Supplies (4:30pm - 6:30pm)
Prep supplies for vendor allocation. Organize paper goods, glassware, boxed water to be delivered to vendor station on Thursday.
Thursday, October 1
Volunteer Check-In Coordinator (9:00am - 12:00pm)
Welcome and assist volunteers as they arrive for the event by managing the volunteer check-in station. Responsibilities include checking volunteers in, providing directions and event information, distributing volunteer lanyards and bottled water, answering basic questions, and ensuring each volunteer knows where to report. This role is perfect for someone who is friendly, organized, and enjoys helping others start their volunteer experience on the right foot.
Venue Setup Team (10:00am - 1:00pm)
Help us set up the morning of the event before guests arrive! Volunteers in this role will assist with final table set-up, place linens on tables, and deliver bus tubs and other supplies to each vendor station. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy staying active, working as part of a team, and helping ensure everything is ready for a successful event. Attention to detail and the ability to lift and carry light to moderate items are appreciated.
Venue Setup Team (11:00am - 2:00pm)
Help prepare the event site by setting up cardboard trash and recycling receptacles throughout the courtyard, transporting glassware boxes to the upper courtyard, assembling water stations, and placing event signage in designated locations. This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy hands-on work and helping create a welcoming, organized environment before guests arrive. Some light to moderate lifting and walking throughout the venue is required.
Raffle Basket Transport (1:00pm - 4:00pm)
Pick up raffle baskets from the Chamber office at Carmel Plaza (Junipero & Ocean, 3rd Floor, Suite 304) and transport them to the courtyard at the Carmel Mission. Set baskets on tables. May require heavy lifting.
Vendor Check-In (1:00pm - 5:00pm)
The Vendor Check-In Team serves as the first point of contact for participating wineries, restaurants, breweries, and food vendors arriving for Taste of Carmel. Volunteers will help create a welcoming experience while ensuring vendors are checked in efficiently and directed to their assigned locations.

Vendor & Volunteer Lot Security (2:00pm - 5:00pm)
Support the Mission staff by managing vendor access to the Murphy Lot (south side near the former school). Volunteers will verify participating vendors and allow one authorized vehicle per vendor to enter the lot for unloading and parking. Additional vehicles may unload but must park in the surrounding neighborhood. This role requires clear communication, confidence, and the ability to politely but firmly enforce parking guidelines while working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
VIP Check-In (4:30pm-6:30pm)
Greet and check in guests as they arrive. Secure their VIP wristband on their wrist and direct them to glassware and the event.
Glastonbury Luxury Suite (4:30pm-7:00pm)
Verify Credentials for guests of the Glastonbury Luxury Suite and allow them access to the suite.
VIP Lounge Attendant (4:30pm-7:00pm)
Provide a warm welcome to VIP guests by overseeing access to the VIP Lounge throughout the event. Volunteers will verify guest credentials, ensure only authorized attendees enter the lounge, answer questions, and assist with basic guest needs. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, professional, attentive, and comfortable interacting with guests while maintaining access to this exclusive event space.
Check-In Registration (5:00pm-7:30pm)
Greet and check in attendees using a checklist provided. Place wristband on attendees and direct them to Lewis Builders, glass sponsor and into the event.
Raffle Sales (5:00pm-8:00pm)
Solicit guests to purchase raffle tickets throughout crowd and at Raffle Station. Portion of the proceeds goes to support the Leadership Carmel Program.

Verify Credentials for guests of the Glastonbury Luxury Suite and allow them access to the suite.
VIP Lounge Attendant (7:00pm-9:00pm)

Late Night Check-In & Departures (7:30pm-9:00pm)
Oversee Late Night Check in and set up water station for departures.
Clean Up & Load Out (9:00pm-11:00pm)
Remove all linens and separate for cleaning. Breakdown all trash recepticles and pile in Southside parking lot. Collect all supplies from vendors and pack to be washed. Pick up any trash and large glass. Move all items going back to chamber office to Southside lot.
Move items from main courtyard to Southside parking lot. Items should be separated by:
1- Separate and Pack Buckets/Bins/Water jugs to be washed (at Flaherty's)
2- Pack leftover raffle items and return to chamber office on friday (Volunteer to take Thurs PM)
3-Pack linens and take for laundry (Take to Soap & Suds in PG)
4- Pack leftover paper goods, signage, products a
5- Pack glasses for washing at Flaherty's
Friday, October 2
Load Out & Return (9:00am-12:00pm)
Provide and Allow use of vehicle and load items to be returned to chamber office, washing, etc.
1- Pack Buckets/Bins/Water jugs to be washed - take to Flaherty's for cleaning.
2- Pack leftover raffle items and return to chamber office on friday
3-Pack linens and take for laundry at Suds in PG
4- Pack leftover paper goods, signage, product and return to chamber office
5- Pack dirty glasses and deliver to Flaherty's for washing. Return clean to chamber office
